Located in a wooded area in south harwich, the existing house needed to be enlarged to provide the client with more space for visitors during the summer season as well as to provide a protected outside space. The introverted existing structure did not take advantage of its secluded location - the new entrance area connects to a new "sun room" structure which opens up towards the sun and woods. To create additional guest rooms, the lower level of the existing house was built-out and given a new entrance. A new wooden spiral stair connects the living area on the entrance level with the new lower level.
